"This is a beautiful place to hike. While you are waiting to get a parking spot, you can visit the visitor center. It is an amazing place. Very very peaceful. It even has a sound meditation room where you can hear birds and also a rain storm. It was a real treat. A hike of the area was even more beautiful than the stunning visitor center they put together."

"We visited in early July and took the Woodland trail. We were there before 9am and waited for a parking spot. We were SO GLAD that we waited! The river was pretty and the small waterfalls fun but that view when you reach the lake, breathtaking! We met a really nice couple that were also enjoying the view and a super nice ranger! We saw some large fish swimming in the lake and the reflections that early in the day were absolutely gorgeous! We would highly recommend you make time for this destination if you are visiting the Tetons! Phelps Lake, Woodland Trail, at the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve!"

"The Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve is one of the most peaceful and beautiful spots in Grand Teton National Park. The visitor center is stunning—built with sustainability in mind and filled with exhibits that really enhance the experience. The staff and rangers are welcoming and knowledgeable.

The hiking trails are well-maintained and offer a mix of easy and moderate options. The short loops are perfect for families, and the Phelps Lake trail is a must—absolutely gorgeous views with plenty of spots to stop and take it all in. We even saw some wildlife along the way, so definitely bring bear spray.

Parking is limited and fills up quickly, so I recommend arriving early in the day. Once you’re on the trails, it feels much quieter and more relaxed compared to the busier areas of the park.

Overall, this is a hidden gem in the Tetons. If you want a serene hike paired with incredible scenery, the Rockefeller Preserve is the place to go!"
