Reviews Summary

The Islesboro Ferry offers a scenic and convenient way to reach the island, especially with the option to bring your car for picnics and exploration. While the ferry itself is enjoyable, strict adherence to departure times and busy periods require careful planning to avoid missing your ride or experiencing long waits.

"Great scenic ride that I got to bring my car! We took the ferry to the island for a lobster roll picnic on the beach."

Mark Roden

"I arrived 10 minutes early on a Monday instead of the 15 that was recommended for the 5 pm trip, as I was pulling up the boat was already leaving, thus making the "5 pm departure" an obligatory time as 5pm is when the clerks leave.
Also had to sleep in my car that night after driving up here from Delaware because my rental was on the island.
Only compassion Inreceived from the clerk was to tell me to get there earlier next time.
So, if you need to be there for the last ferry it's best if you're here clvery very very early.
You may even want to call ahead to make sure they're still in the office and not leaving early."

"Super reliable, always on time, bee's knees. Don't park without a ticket. If you're heading to the isle, mornings are BUSY. If you are leaving Islesboro, afternoons are BUSY. Plan accordingly and it's lovely. Sunset from Islesboro is amazing."
