"Took our kayaks out and had the island all to ourselves! Well, besides the iguanas, birds, hermit crabs, and a bunny. We launched from Robbie's and it did not take us much time to get there at all. The island is not very well maintained but that is expected since it is an island with access only for kayaks right now while the dock is under construction. I feel that the remote and abandoned feel to the park adds to my enjoyment of it. Not much sea life that we saw, I'm guessing because water temps were at record highs. The ruins aren't much to look at but the history is interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy solitude and exploring hidden, out-of-the-way places."
