What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the historical insights offered by the walking tours, highlighting the knowledgeable docents and the unique preservation of relocated buildings like the blacksmith shop. While the district is small and not a typical 'old town,' it provides a valuable glimpse into Irvine's past. Some note the area can feel a bit 'sketchy' and that tours are infrequent.
"The Old Towne walking tour was wonderful and our docent Gayle was a wealth of knowledge and really opened everyone's eyes to how much history Irvine actually has. Old town Irvine is not like most old towns, where there is a long street with old buildings. If you blink, you would miss it. The tour shows you the blacksmiths building (Knowlwoods), the garage (Denny's), the old silos (La Quinta Hotel) and shares stories about how the general store, a temporary housing building and one home have been moved to this strip of what is called Old Town. We saw the blacksmiths catalog of work which is present today, drill bits, lathes and so much more. The tours are once a month and it lasts one hour. Highly recommend it."

"Positives: Wasn't bad; good for the price. The employees were helpful and in good spirits. I personally love that it was a factory in its younger days, and you can still feel that vibe. I've never slept in a bed so comfortable, and it was nice to wake up to an awesome breakfast (waffles, apples, oranges, cereal, muffins, toast). Most importantly, I felt safe.
Negatives: It's kind of in a sketchy looking area, and the noise level between the rooms isn't the best. The wifi was in and out a lot, which was kind of aggravating. The rooms could have been cleaner in some areas.
You get your pros and cons wherever you stay. For the price and environment, it's a decent stay with a restful night."

"Really good food. Slightly odd interior but the uniqueness and originality is super fun! Staff were nice and overall very good."
