What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Bommer Canyon Preserve as a beautiful, free natural escape within Irvine, perfect for family hikes and biking. While appreciated for its accessibility and historical elements like the Cattle Camp, some note the lack of shade and that it might not be the most visually stunning trail in Orange County compared to other options.
"evening hike, nice to be out here and avoid the crowds"

"Nice and easy trails for the family. Some historical points of interest and regional flora to see. Bathrooms at the trailhead and Irvine police randomly pass through."
David Cutkosky
"A fairly simple hiking attraction in the middle of Irvine. The set of trials vary in difficulty: at first the trials are easy, but if you're athletic, you can hike more rigorous challenging trials later in the hike. A believe the canyon is free of charge and that's always a plus side.
Not the most beautiful trail in Orange County (partly because Orange County has tons of beautiful trials), but sill a gorgeous place to hike!
Be warned: there is seldom any shade on the trail, be ready to get a lot of vitamin D!"
