"If I didn’t see the map or read the signs, I’d of thought the Davenport bridge crossing was just over a tributary! Otherwise, inside it looks like any upscale community anywhere, without having passerby views of the outsides.
The small beach and big boats are indicators that water sports enthusiasts reside here.
There’s surveillance cameras and welcome signs at the end of the bridge.
A small park, known as Booster Park, comes into view. It’s a nice neighborhood park for the local kids to go to and visitors to park beside. The park is obviously not intended for weekend crowds to come in and have picnics here.
Waterfront homeowners have an advantage of docking boats by their backyards, whereas interior island residents may have their yachts in the small Davenport Marina, adjacent to the Davenport Beach.
Boat owners do have it good here, with sheltered canals, brackish water all around and the eventual passage out to sea!"
