"We came to this library in summer and in fall, and both times it was beautiful. There are plenty of seats inside, and the architecture design is pretty impressive. It’s pity that they used a curtain to cover the window inside; otherwise, I believe the view of the river must be stunning!"

"Beautiful building and great views throughout. It was my first time here, I wandered around and grabbed some books. I didn't know how it worked even though I have a NYPL card and asked and was kindly walked through the process. Everyone was super friendly and Amit at the front desk was really helpful. Hung out at the tables by the steps for a little and was able to get a lot of work done for a busier Friday afternoon! Can't wait to come back."

"Friendly staff not too crowded. Sparse periodical section. The temperature was a bit low. I was wearing three layers and still felt a chill. It may have something to do with the (passiv haus?) build. I’m not sure as I haven’t researched it but it was low sixties Fahrenheit max. The exterior walls appear to be concrete but on closer inspection are actually plywood painted silvery gray. This creates an interesting texture and I imagine it “protects” the concrete making for easy maintenance. A new coat of paint rather than an expensive power wash to clean the concrete stains is thoughtful. I assume it’s a very efficient space HVAC wise and the cold is just the price you pay. The views are quite nice and the different sections well partitioned and nestled in their own areas. Great lighting lots of natural light not too bright almost dim in a good way. Adequate restrooms and open and airy everywhere. Even the quiet zone is enclosed in glass so you feel open although enclosed. It would be five stars save the paltry periodical selection and the arctic climate."
