What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Baldpate Mountain is praised for its beautiful natural scenery, including lush flowers and scenic drives, and offers rewarding summit views. Hikers appreciate the variety of trails, from easy gravel paths to more challenging rocky sections, and the historical stone structures add unique interest. However, some find the views only 'ok' and the trails mostly wooded.
"This was a really great hike especially for where its located. It gives such a luscious life to nature and with the amount of flowers I couldn't ask for more. With the birds chirping, a steady path of a hike, amazing temperature along the way, even the drive to the parking lot for the hike was scenic. Just make sure you follow the path and especially take a picture of the map. Highly recommend"

"Such a lovely place for all levels of walkers and hikers. Main gravel path isn’t challenging at all and there’s a few more rooty/rockier trails to spin off from. The overlook is a great place to park by the FOHV house and walk up to for a picnic or a quiet place to sit and talk."

"Beautiful hiking spot and very scenic spots along the way, as well as multiple picnic spots if anyone is up for it. We went here during labor day weekend, and parked at Brickyard church road parking, which is a tiny parking for 5 cars max, although there were available spots when we started at 7:30 am as well as when leaving around 10 am. If this is full, there is plenty of parking at orange, white & green trailheads parking, which was on the way in our route. We started on green trail accessible from this parking lot, then merged to white, followed by taking the red loop, which turns around and comes back to white, and we reversed the path from there to return to the parking. The trail is partially marked with signs, we followed the map from Alltrails app on the phone, without which intersections were hard to decide on and we would have been lost without alltrails map. Second visit would be ok, as its a pretty straightforward path. This route has about 800+ feet of elevation and roughly bit less than 7 miles. About 3 miles in there was a beautiful lookout spot, overlooking the Delaware river and views of the mountain. Also, one mile into the hike at the second parking lot, there was a portable Johnny, in case anyone needs to plan around it. The weather was extremely nice, we lucked out, path was dry, and we didnt see much bugs. Will certainly come again!!"
