"Rich in history, and gives you a strong sense of what the bombing of Pearl Harbor was like. Enjoyed the boat ride to see the Arizona. The movie at the theater was informative. Highly recommend getting the audio since it goes into more details. The staff were helpful and informative. Remember to bring a clear back pack otherwise, you will have to put your purse and backpack into a storage area. Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. Just snacks to purchase at the store."

"A Truly Humbling Experience, But Plan for the Costs
This is an incredibly humbling and powerful place to visit. Standing there and reflecting on the history is a profound experience that every American should have. The main memorial itself is incredibly well done, respectful, and moving.
My only real issue is how the pricing is structured. It's a bit messed up that you have to pay so much to see all the historic sites. It doesn't make sense why the main memorial is covered, but seeing everything else like the battleship and the other museums are pay to see. I think it was close to a hundred bucks a person to see everything, which feels unreasonable.
Outside of the sticker shock for the full tour, the experience itself is absolutely not bad at all. It's a five-star piece of history, without a doubt.
Just be prepared for the extra costs if you want to see more than the main memorial."

"Profoundly Moving and Unforgettable Historical Experience
Visiting Pearl Harbor is an absolute must when in Hawaii. The USS Arizona Memorial and surrounding sites provide a powerful, emotional glimpse into the events of December 7, 1941, and the sacrifices made by so many. The exhibits are well-curated, informative, and provide context that makes history come alive in a deeply personal way.
The staff and guides are knowledgeable and respectful, helping visitors understand the significance of each site while maintaining the solemnity it deserves. Walking the memorial and seeing the sunken battleship beneath the water is a moment you won’t forget. Pearl Harbor is both humbling and inspiring — a place where history truly resonates and leaves a lasting impression on every visitor."

The USS Arizona Memorial: A Sacred Site
It's estimated that around 500,000 gallons of oil remain trapped within the wreckage of the USS Arizona. This oil continues to leak slowly through cracks and corrosion, a phenomenon poetically referred to as the 'black tears of the Arizona,' as if the ship itself is still mourning its lost crew. This ongoing leakage serves as a constant, somber reminder of the tragedy. Some visitors have even discovered that family members are interred within the ship, adding a deeply personal layer to their visit.
Remember that access to the USS Arizona Memorial requires a timed ticket, which is free but must be reserved in advance through recreation.gov. The demand is extremely high, so planning ahead is crucial.
Beyond the Arizona: Exploring Other Historic Sites
For a different perspective, the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum showcases a remarkable collection of aircraft, many of which were present during the attack or played key roles in the war. The USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park allows you to descend into a WWII submarine, offering a glimpse into the cramped and challenging life of submariners.
These additional sites, along with the Visitor Center's museums and exhibits, provide a layered historical narrative. While the Arizona Memorial is free, these other attractions typically require separate admission fees or can be bundled into a 'Passport' ticket. Planning your visit to include these can transform a somber remembrance into a full day of historical immersion.
