Reviews Summary

Ke'ei Beach is a unique, secluded destination praised for its excellent snorkeling and tranquil white sand. Visitors highlight the adventurous 4WD access and the feeling of stepping back in time. However, the challenging road and lack of facilities are noted drawbacks, requiring preparedness and respect for the local environment.

"I loved it! But everyone in your group might not depending on their definition of an ideal beach. Loved the snorkeling! 🤿 saw tons of yellow fish, a puffer fish, and some coral. The ocean is calm enough to be safe to swim.

Driving TIP: make sure to turn down the road (dirt road easy to miss) “Ke’Ei rd” right after the Keawikiki Rd.
We drove down the dirt path until we parked here at the black rocks.

You could drive a bit further down, park, then walk along the path/ beach to the sandy beach. BUT, there are lots of spikes sea urchins along the beach. They’re easier to avoid if you chose to jump into the water along the rocky part where we chose to park. You just have to be careful.

Someone in another persons group immediately stepped on one when they got there and they just left dissapointed.

Worth it for me. :)
Secluded and not too many people come here."

Laurel Morris

"Not a 'traditional' Beach. Sand stops at the waterline. Local families know the safe spots. Lots of sea urchins (wana) so dont walk on the reefs. Very special place. There are a lot of beaches with much easier access. There arent public restrooms or trash cans. Parking is very limited. Single lane dirt and lava road. Respect the ocean and the Aina. Aloha"

Ian Stark

"Do not attempt coming here unless you have a 4-wheel drive vehicle and you're comfortable driving one lane rough terrain.

The GPS is a tough follow, but will get you there. You'll be tempted to turn around because of all the private property signs, but follow the road to where it opens to a parking area. Park and follow the road around to the back and white sand beach, beautiful water, great snorkeling and seclusion.

Speaking of seclusion, DO NOT TRESPASS ON OTHER'S PROPERTY!"
