Homer, Alaska 11:30pm I lived in Homer Alaska last summer and took this video after I got off work at 11pm. The sun only sets for about 3 hours during the summer. Usually around 2am to 5am. This is Kachemak Bay and the mountains in the back are the Kenai Mountains. #homer #alaska #sunset #naturephotogorphy #sunsetmagic #daydream #flowers #liverleaf #fireweed #summerdays #fyp #thespit #Love

Visitors consistently praise Homer Demonstration Forest for its beautiful, well-maintained trails and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The Wynn Nature Center is highlighted as a family-friendly spot with engaging signage. While some find the trail fees a bit high, the overall experience is considered well worth the cost, offering a peaceful escape into nature.

"We went to the Visitor Center and got our trail map. The trail fee was $8 per person for seniors. The staff was really nice at both locations. We enjoyed walking along the trails. We almost missed the smaller area that is .2 miles from the visitor center but we turned around and found it."

Donna Smith

"What a nice little area! We walked along almost all the trails and just loved the beautiful scenery. It was family friendly and well marked trails signs. So cool wandering around in the lush forest."

Marli H

"The Wynn Nature Center is the perfect low-key/low-cost outdoor adventure for the whole family (or all by yourself, if you'd prefer). We've visited several times, but apparently I missed the announcement that they'd built a whole new Visitor Center that opened last summer, so our first visit this year I drove right by!

The new building is beautifully built and the staff has been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable at each visit. The trail system is well-maintained, and freckled with thoughtful labels and signage to indicate local flora and to mark the routes.

My 6-year-old was easily able to keep up and navigate the heavily root-laden ups, downs, and switchbacks of the trails with zero trouble (and lots of watching her footwork), and she had a wonderful time. A trip to the Wynn Nature Center and a peaceful wooded walk on the trails is well-worth the drive up Skyline!"
