Reviews Summary

Hillsboro Pioneer Cemetery offers a deep dive into local history with its 1860s markers and street-name connections. Visitors appreciate the historical significance and natural elements like the large 'Indian bean' tree. However, some recent reviews point to concerns about cemetery upkeep and proximity to homeless encampments, impacting the overall visitor experience.

"The earliest markers are from 1860s. A very Iarge Pioneer cemetery. A large "Indian bean" tree in the middle with pretty flowers in season. Large oaks. Many of the names in this cemetery are the names of the local streets, roads, and areas. Very few markers are newer than 1950s."

Ryan Sollars

"I was there on 1/6/25. Very disappointed on how the cemetery looks. My grandparents are there and it is such a mess. So depressing. To bad the City of Hillsboro doesn't take better care of this cemetery. If nothing else get the people in jail ti help clean up or ask for volunteers."

Barbara Sorrell

"Unfortunately until they clean up the homeless site next to the cemetery I don’t recommend this site for your loved ones. When I visit I see trash used mattresses next door and used needles. I feel so bad for those who rest there at the cemetery as sometimes the homeless Wander through there. Hope and pray the city cleans it up soon."
