"I live approximately one hour from Hartwell. I live in Georgia to be exact & I will make this drive with no problem. The walkway to the Dam alongside Lake Hartwell is altogether beautiful scenery. Very worth the drive and walk in my opinion. Hartwell Dam is a perfect spot for any Family. There is a public park for Children to play, while the Adults sit & relax at the picnic tables. "Took the pups on a walk on the South Carolina side of the dam at the suggestion of our VRBO host and I and very glad we did!
Beautiful view, even on a cloudy morning. There are stairs that lead up to the trail so be prepared. The walk is short but you can spend a ton of time just looking out at the lake.
