Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Negwegon State Park's stunning, secluded sandy beaches and warm, shallow waters, making it ideal for relaxation and family fun. The park is also a top-tier destination for stargazing due to its exceptionally dark skies. While the rustic nature and challenging sandy roads are part of its charm, some find the lack of amenities and difficult access a drawback.
"Awesome place awesome beach. The beach is a wonderful location. Very handy nice beach, the waters nice and warm here and sandy with sand bars. Endless water fountain to clean your feet Got to love it"
Bob Sapp
"We are hitting several of the state parks on our tour through Michigan. Since we were coming from the north, Google told us to drive Sand Road from the north. It was interesting, but the better route is definitely coming from the south. Nice, secluded beach to play on. You can see deer, bird, and coyote prints all over the beach. We went twice. On the first day, the waves were close to 2 feet from peak to crest. On the second day the waves were no more than an inch high. There are several miles of hiking trails, that lead to more beach and rocky shores. I had a great time just walking the South Point looking at the glacial dropped rocks. We saw a few birds and a couple snakes while walking."

"Very nice, clean relaxing and quiet beach. Scenic all around. Hiking, swimming and exploring more of Michigan's splendor. Outhouse, no grills and no picnic tables. This park is well off the main road. Driving to the main entrance can be tricky. Room for one car only, but there are places to pull off and allow traffic by.
Great for star gazing. Caught a meteor shower, Mars and Mars reflecting off the lake...
What a sight to see."
