What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Brethren and Mennonite Heritage Center for its informative guided tours and well-preserved historic buildings, offering a rich blend of faith and early American farm life. While some expected a purely historical focus, the strong emphasis on religious education is a key aspect of the experience. The knowledgeable guides are frequently highlighted as a major asset, making the visit both educational and enjoyable for families and history buffs alike.
"Really good place to visit if you want to learn about Mennonite/Brethren and early American history! Most buildings feature very old artifacts and well explained tools and materials used for daily farm life. My guide was very informative and pointed out many interesting details in a short amount of time. Recommend to visit!"

"Saw this place on 'things to do' in the area and it seemed from the limited information from other reviews, their website, and photos it was a historic center that would provide history and tours of Brethren and Mennonite and how the people of this faith lived during the 1700 & 1800s. Unfortunately, this was not it. This is more of a religious educational experience. Its all about the religion and what the Mennonite faith is about. The tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. There are many old/historic buildings on site but our guide really didn't seem interested in talking about history. He was very interested in talking about the Mennonite religion. We wished it was more of a historical tour/experience."
