Visitors rave about Bluebird Gap Farm as a delightful, free community resource offering a wonderful mix of animals, playgrounds, and nature trails. It's praised for its peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity for hands-on animal interaction, making it a beloved spot for families and a pleasant escape for all. Some minor points of feedback include the enthusiastic nature of the goats and the lack of on-site food vendors.
"This is a cool place! Wouldn't expect in the city to find but there it is right across the street from Bass Pro Shops and near Mercury Boulevard and I-64 and I-664. We went on a Saturday morning and the playground was popular. Nice variety of farm animals and options to feed for $ otherwise the place is free. Don't expect a snack stand here to provide lunch. Lots of space to walk around the kids will have a good time. There is a kayak launch that can be accessed through the parking lot."

"Free family fun. Part petting zoo, part community gardens, part fantastic elementary-ish age playground, part nature reserve, part anything outside.... and ALL fantastic. Volunteers, community members, boy scouts, senior groups, and other organizations join employees in caring for the animals, plants, and structures on this community layering spot. It is a nice slice of nature and countryside life right in the middle of town, in Hampton near the convention center. There are restrooms, and everything is free except for goat/sheep food. The only animals who you cannot feed are the horses and donkeys. Watch out for the goats, who WILL snatch your bag (& eat it unrepentantly) spilling all the food out... which they will then try to reach to eat. The volunteers and employees are very knowledgeable and friendly, answering many questions for us in our visit. If we lived nearby, we'd go frequently to play and visit the animals. Well worth repeated trips with the kids, or a friend, just to take in a bit of nature, and enjoy a more peaceful setting."
