What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum for its knowledgeable and friendly volunteers, impressive model train displays, and the unique opportunity to explore restored rolling stock. It's a highly recommended, affordable outing, especially for families with children who love trains. Some minor areas for improvement in exhibit completion were noted, and the limited operating hours can be a point of disappointment for weekday visitors.
"Cool trains, small but enjoyable. The staff was very knowledgeable about the history and different trains. My son loved it!!"

"Took our family here for a child's birthday. All in all, the whole family had a great time here. The kids had a blast watching the trains and there was even a table for the littlest ones to play. I'm a big fan of anything that allows kids to touch and explore and appreciate that the museum kept that in mind. We spent a couple of hours here and had to practically drag our train-obsessed toddler away when it was time to leave. The staff/volunteers were also quite lovely, even willing to show the kids around so us moms could wrangle to babies and rest. They were very welcoming and polite. The only suggestion I would have is there could be a few updates here and there, and it was a little disappointing that one side of the model trains room was incomplete, though I know that takes time to work on. The price was extremely reasonable though, so we all were quite happy."

"Great train museum. The volunteers were stellar . Full of information and friendly. Great prices in the gift shop. The best part was climbing up on the trains outside and peering into the past through the windows. We go to train museums all over America and this was one of the best."
