"This was our first visit and we were impressed. The area is full of beautiful scenery and with much to offer. We stayed in a chalet and was very happy with the views and also the cleanliness. We did book a pet friendly chalet and did not have an issue with smells from previous pets. We visited the beach area- I would recommend bringing water shoes as there are a lot of shells and pebbles and the sand gets hot. Also, bring an umbrella or some type of shade. There is an area at beach to use the restroom and change clothes. No pets are allowed at the beach. There are many trails to hike. There is zip lining but it is a little pricey. The pool at the lodge was great. There is a restaurant at the lodge but it is closed Monday- Wednesday which was the days that we were there. Overall, we had a great time and plan on making this a yearly family vacation since there is much to offer without breaking the bank."

"This review is for the lodge and room within the state park. The lodge is beautiful, but could definitely use some updates. The carpet in the big venue room needs to be replaced. There wa a shortage of staff while we were there for a work conference. I understand that it’s about to be bought by Hilton. My hope is that this will bring the revenue to upgrade some things.
The room I stayed in was sufficient but there were issues: poor lighting, hair dryer didn’t work, stained carpet, etc.
But the VIEW from the conference/venue room is incredible! That’s the best part."
