"This is a beautiful scenic viewpoint that is absolutely worth stopping at. There's restrooms available and a few lookout points. It's just over a half mile to walk from viewpoint to viewpoint, and you get incredible views of the Curecanti Needle, water, and canyon below. There's a few picnic tables here as well. The trailhead for Curecanti Creek Trail is here, and that hike gets you down into the canyon at water level with the Curecanti Needle. This is a free to visit and absolutely beautiful. Absolutely worth the stop."

"This was a last minute detour from Crested Butte to Montrose to catch our plane home. And what a pleasant surprise! It was several miles off of 50 to get there and well worth it. You definitely want to make it up to the fenced vantage point to get the full beauty of the canyon with the water below. Simply breathtaking!"
