The walking paths and proximity to dining and shopping are also highly appreciated. Some mention ongoing construction in Grand Rapids, which is expected to enhance the park's amenities.
"Lovely green space along the Grand River in the north Monroe neighborhood. Fav walking spot in the city as it connects to so many areas to walk along the river / downtown. Currently under construction as we get a stunning revamp with a pavilion, new playground, greater access to the river etc"
Maria Zimmer
"Great park alongside the Grand River. There's a long bike/walking trail through the park, heading into the Sixth St. Park, right after the historic 6th St. Bridge. There's also a medium-size playground with restrooms nearby. Many picnic tables and benches are available throughout, but no pavilion. There's one in the Sixth St. Park though. Both parks have some outdoor exercise equipment as well. Parking is not free during weekdays.
Edit: Added pictures."
Feryal Alayont
"It's currently a fenced off construction site, with no boat launch. Won't be open for at least a year according to the city."
