What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Grand Prairie Farmers Market for its friendly vendors, spacious layout, and diverse selection of artisan crafts and baked goods. While some note a limited variety of fresh produce, the overall experience is described as pleasant and community-oriented, making it a worthwhile Saturday morning destination.
"The Grand Prairie Farmers Market came alive with music, color, and the heartbeat of island pride. Hosted by the Caribbean Association of Texas (CAT), the festival was a beautiful showcase of culture, flavor, and joy.
I’m not Caribbean, but I grew up surrounded by its rhythms—the food, the laughter, the spirit. So tasting Trinidadian doubles and roti felt like returning to something familiar and soul-deep.
By the end, I was full—not just from the food, but from the feeling of belonging. I can’t wait for the next affair."

"Cute market, lots of friendly vendors. Spacious & not overcrowded with plenty of room to talk around without bumping elbows. Some vendors are under a building, while others have their pop up tents. Great path to walk.
A bit small, but not a complaint, wonderful shops but you'll go through them all quickly. Parking in the back, literally a few steps away.
There's a little bit of everything here & something for everyone! I'll definitely be back!"

"I have visited this delightful little marketplace a few times and love it. It is open every other Saturday. Be prepared to get offered samples from the food vendors. There are a diverse assortment of items to choose from amongst the many vendors - from arts & crafts to clothing to jewelry, and much more. You won't be disappointed. Stop by the leather craft table and ask for Paul (that's me).
Update: April 6, 2024
Mayor's 5K Run coincided with our first day of the new year, so there was more foot traffic than I've ever seen there. Personally, I had my best day ever as a leather craft vendor. This is my first season and I'll be there every Saturday through the end of the year.
Update: May 18, 2024
The weather has been cooperating and the public has been in attendance. Making friends, have repeat customers, and even a great referral project from a satisfied client.
Update: November 15, 2025
Several months ago I had to stop attending the Farmers Market because it became too difficult physically. I stopped by today to drop off my donation for the annual Sock Drive. Don't worry, they accept more than socks as long as the items are new. I picked up a bunch of great deals on t-shirts and shorts at Walmart. If you're nearby you can bring your donation any Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. tell Ray and Scotty that Paul the leather guy sent you."
