What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently rave about Grand Canyon helicopter tours, calling them the '#1 thing to do when in Vegas' and an 'out of this world' experience. The breathtaking aerial views and the professionalism of the pilots are frequently highlighted as major positives. Some find the cost high but agree it's 'value for money' for the unforgettable memories created.
"This was my first Vegas visit since 2017. This tour was the main reason for the trip! IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT!!! #1 thing to do when in Vegas. I flew in on Sunday and landed around 9:30. Was in my car rental by 10:15. The drive from the airport is only about 2 hours. It is a little confusing once you get to the Canyon. The checkpoint employee guided me to the visitor center. That is not where you want to go. They are located in the brown building to the left.
I was lucky enough to do the tour solo. The photos do not do this trip justice! IT IS BREATHTAKING!!! Being able to see the Canyon from the air and on the water was amazing.
The staff had amazing customer service. Everyone was polite and accommodating. The pilot was superb, very kind. She made it feel like I was flying with a friend. The boat driver was great too. He was from the local tribe and very knowledgeable about the history of the Canyon.
I think I will do a Grand Canyon tour every time I am in Vegas!!!"

Choosing Your Helicopter Tour Operator
Some tours, like those from Five Star Helicopter Tours, highlight extended flight times and the ability to fly into the canyon, offering a unique perspective. It's worth noting that tours departing from Las Vegas often include hotel pick-up and shuttle services, making the logistics much simpler for visitors staying on the Strip. For those seeking a more intimate or special occasion, inquire about private charter options.
Remember to check the specific details of each tour, such as the type of aircraft used, the pilot's experience, and any potential add-ons like seat upgrades for better views. The Grand Canyon helicopter tour price can vary significantly, so compare offerings to find the best value for your budget and desired experience.
The Grand Canyon Experience: Beyond the Rim
Some packages combine a helicopter flight with a ground tour, often in a Hummer or similar vehicle, to visit various Grand Canyon viewpoints on the South Rim. These ground tours are led by knowledgeable guides who share insights into the canyon's geology, history, and indigenous culture. This multi-faceted approach offers a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of this natural wonder, catering to those who want more than just an aerial view.
For those interested in combining their Grand Canyon visit with other nearby attractions, some tours may include a flyover of the Hoover Dam. This iconic engineering feat offers a different kind of awe, showcasing human ingenuity against the backdrop of the desert landscape. The combination of natural beauty and historical landmarks makes for a truly diverse and enriching day trip.
Navigating Las Vegas Departures
When booking a tour from Vegas, consider the duration and destination. Tours to the West Rim are generally shorter and closer, while South Rim tours offer a more classic Grand Canyon vista but require a longer flight. Some tours even offer a sunset flight over the Las Vegas Strip on the return journey, adding another layer of excitement to the experience. This can be a fantastic way to cap off an already incredible day.
Be aware that prices for tours departing from Las Vegas might be slightly higher due to the operational costs and included services like transfers. However, the time saved and the convenience often make it a worthwhile investment for a memorable helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon.
