What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Grabill Amish Country, particularly the Country Shoppes, is a unique destination praised for its delicious homemade baked goods, extensive bulk food selection, and surprisingly eclectic taxidermy display. While many enjoy the traditional country store feel and good bargains, some visitors have strong ethical objections to the taxidermy. The buffet is also a highlight for its quality and price.
"Such a great place. Very different finds. Some great bargains. 80/20 beef $47. For 20 pounds. In 1 pound rolls . Fresh homemade amish baked goods. Bulk candy. Hard to find items. Pies $12.99"

"This store used to be a nice, country, down home, welcoming country store. Now it’s like the merchant of death owns it. EVERYWHERE you look are dead animals. Death, death, death, it is absolutely awful. I will not spend one single penny in that store ever again. They put a sign up at the entrance of the store explaining why they have giant dead animals everywhere. They try to defend these senseless killings by saying the meat was donated to the local villagers. You could have just taken the money you spent on killing innocent animals and bought food, built homes, and dug wells for the village. Nothing can justify the senseless killing of animals just for sport. By having these animals all over the store, Grabill Country Sales is saying they are ok with this behavior. It is just horrible!"
