What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Inner Space Cavern for its stunning natural beauty, knowledgeable guides, and the unique experience of complete darkness. The constant cool temperature makes it a welcome respite from the Texas heat, and the historical insights, including Ice Age fossils, add an educational layer. While the uphill return can be challenging for some, and certain tours involve tight spaces, the overall consensus is that it's a highly recommended and memorable adventure for all ages.
"Title: A Truly Unique and Thrilling Experience!
I recently visited Inner Space Cavern and had an absolutely amazing time! From start to finish, the tour was well organized and the guides were incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about the history, geology, and formation of the cave.
One of the most memorable moments was when the guide turned off all the lights deep inside the cave. It’s hard to describe the feeling of being in complete darkness—absolutely pitch black, with zero light and only the sounds of the cave around you. It was both peaceful and awe-inspiring, giving a sense of how early explorers must have felt venturing into these hidden spaces for the first time.
The cave itself is stunning—beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, and unique formations everywhere you look. The temperature inside is comfortably cool, so it’s a great escape from the Texas heat.
Highly recommend this experience for families, adventure seekers, or anyone curious about nature’s underground wonders. If you haven’t been, put this on your list!"

"Honestly this is one of the more memorable things we did on our trip to Austin (technically Georgetown). Definitely worth the ticket and the trip if you’re nearby.
There are 3 packages that you can choose from. Since we were new, we chose the basic package (if you want a little more physical activity and adventure you can choose the others but I think most other people in this review section did the basic package. Don’t worry—the basic package is entertaining and worth your money.) Our guide was very knowledgeable and talked about the cave’s history, geology, and everything in between. It is damp and wet inside the cave so they do recommend closed toe tennis shoes so you don’t accidentally slip but there are strategically placed carpets and handrails in various inclines and declines. There is a photo opportunity at the very beginning of the tour that’s available for purchase and pick up later on at the gift shop for I believe $16. You do walk about 1 mile round trip and the biggest hurdle is coming back from the tour and tackling that huge incline that was previously your decline. The tour is very organized and the sights are beautiful.
There is a gift shop, small concession stand like food booth, and a mini zip line outside that’s $10 regular price. It’s scarier going backwards in the ride and it’s not your typical zip line where you go individually, it’s more like an amusement theme park ride where you go 30 mph backwards and forwards on this 2 seater."

"Nice and clean. The staff were knowledgeable of the caverns.
A great tour of the caverns (about 1 hour long for the basic package). The staff didn’t miss a beat at each stop along the route. They made it interesting enough for all ages.
It can get muggy in the cavern and the uphill back up can be daunting but not impossible.
FYI. Going uphill out of cave can be difficult. They got different tours for the more adventurous."
