"The tall ship Elissa is a must-see on our trips to Galveston. Tickets can be purchased at the adjacent Seaport Museum. Tickets are for both the museum and the Elissa. There is a cute little gift shop with gift ideas for most anyone. The Seaport Museum has been changed up since our last visit several years ago. The self guided tour guides you through the path of an immigrant coming to America. The exhibits reflect many of Galvestons landmarks. But the best part is boarding the Sailing Ship Elissa and exploring how people traveled back in the day. The crew berths and cabins seem ridiculously tiny to modern eyes. BONUS: the USS Texas is clearly visible across the harbor in dry dock being repaired and prepared for it new berth hopefully near the museum!"
