Reviews Summary
Thunder Bay Falls is a charming, easily accessible natural spot near Galena, praised for its picturesque cascade, especially after rain, and its pleasant surroundings with wildflowers and wildlife. While some find the waterfall smaller than expected and the seating basic, its convenience and natural beauty make it a worthwhile, quick stop for most visitors.
"I went to thunder Bay falls yesterday. And I kind of expected a bit better, bigger waterfall. I really enjoy the the sound of rushing water. There were a few people fishing. But when you look in the water, the fish are very small. And I don't really think good for eating. This waterfall is off the beaten path. I was in Galina, Illinois and decided to do some sightseeing. A lot of people were stopping and visiting taking selfies. There are places to sit and just relax and listen to the water. But they are big, concrete stones. So not very comfortable, it was an easy walk down and up, but it was gravel."

"A very interesting place near the historic town of Galena. Definitely worth seeing. And I would say it will look different in every season. I stopped here at the end of September and there was quite a bit of water."

"Super cute little spot, especially in July! There are wildflowers everywhere and the waterfall was really neat to see. I saw some kids fishing and catching things. Also saw a little snake swimming along in the water. Pretty cool little spot! Oh! I love the selfie station box! I wish more parks would have something like that!"
