What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Historic Downtown Gainesville for its charm, walkability, and vibrant community atmosphere, especially during events. While generally positive, some may find parking a bit challenging during peak event times, and the variety of dining options, though good, could be expanded for some tastes.
"I've been a resident of Gwinnett county for over 23 years. Been to Lake Lanier since I was a kid but never really explored Gainesville, Hall County. Aside from a run in with the law. I was also an employee of Gainesville, Hall County through a staffing agency Prologistix with Kings Hawaiian Plant for over two months. Aside from the court house and police departments, Historic Downtown Gainesville is a lovely area. There are colleges onsite, historic monuments, public parks, public parking, and plenty of events going on all year round. Exploring on foot is the best way to enjoy the scenery Downtown Gainesville has to offer; From a self guided walking cemetery tour to multiple connected parks into Lake Lanier boating docks, fishing, canoeing, boating and swimming area and shopping and dining. There's plenty to do for families, groups, and individual outings. Very neat place."

"Really cool place to gather. Some nights there is live music and crafts for sale, taking your beer or drink from the bar to the Square was nice."
