What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking panoramic views from the Wayah Bald Lookout Tower, calling it a must-see scenic spot. The short, accessible walk to the tower and the available restrooms are appreciated amenities. However, many note the challenging, narrow, and gravelly forest road leading to the summit, advising slow and careful driving.
"Worth the insanely scary drive through the forest. It's tight turns, slim roads, right gravel, some potholes, cars coming down. But parking area has a public rest room. Short walk to the observation tower where you can see pretty much to everywhere. Almost 5400 feet up but a very easy walk from lot to Tower. Kids abs seniors were coming down the trail with no problem. Drive slowly!"

"The gravel road leading up to the bald seems to go on forever. But once you make it to the top, it's only a short paved walk from the parking lot to the tower. The views from the parking lot are awesome but once you climb the tower, you'll see some absolutely breath taking views. If you're in the area it's definitely worth the trip."

"Great spot to check out as the drive does get bumpy but well worth it! There are restrooms above next to the parking lot! The views are incredible!"
