What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Near Southside is lauded for its vibrant arts scene, diverse culinary offerings, and strong community spirit, particularly highlighted by events like ArtsGoggle. While most reviews praise the local businesses and neighborhood charm, some negative feedback exists regarding property management issues.
"Angel Mikeska who was my landlord that works for Near Southside Properties is dodging my texts messages regarding getting my security deposit back from my rental property at 2212 W Rosedale. Finally got a text back about where my deposit went days later. Was told that some holes in the wall from screws and nails (that I spackled myself) and some paint was 1200$ worth of work. DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS. I'd leave 0 stars if possible."

"I popped in off the street today to ask what they do. I met Jeff and he was very willing and able to describe the organization. It sounds very much like a Chamber of Commerce but they are more focused on construction in the immediate area than the Chambers Commerce that I know of would be. They do events that bring businesses and residents together in ways that display culture and showcase talent. They are in the planning phase for next year right now, but I was impressed so I calendared the next one!"

"I think ArtsGoggle is one of the best art show and fun-for-all events in Fort Worth. This year's event (2024) was as good as it gets. The thing I like best about ArtsGoggle is that is features local artists. Like, very local painters, sculptures, photographers, all the delicious Magnolia restaurants and bars, plus weavers, resale clothiers, knitters, along with student art from the art departments in local high schools. I hope that ArtsGoggle will ALWAYS be this local and funky and doesn't succumb to national fine-arts vendors that you see during Main Street Arts Festivals. Then, this year ArtsGoggle collaborated with Lost n Sound so that there were line-ups of local musicians and bands playing at the ArtsGoggle stages AND at various venues throughout Near Southside. It was lots of fun! If you have never been to an ArtsGoggle event, make plans to go next year. You won't be sorry!"
