What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum for its diverse events and the positive energy of its staff, particularly during community gatherings. However, some reviews highlight significant issues with traffic management during peak event times and a lack of clarity regarding premium seating, leading to disappointment for some patrons.
"People inside here were fantastic and the only reason this isnt a 5 star rating is because of the parking people came off as rude at times often would force people to pay when they werent required to due to VIP access so better communication between the inside and outside would be the only criticism. In the grand scheme of things, its a pretty minor thing and I had oke of the best weekends of the past decade and cannot wait to he back next year. Picture is the beautiful girl I picked up at the 2025 Colubridfest. If youre interested in coming next year look up 2026 Colubridfest thats on the last weekend of September. Hope to see you all there!"

"Went to see comedian Nate Bargatze.
He was Fantastic. A little off at beginning but got in the groove and was not disappointed.
Enjoyed the warm up comedians as well. Great Mother’s Day with the family. Thank you."

"The facility its self is nice, but the lack of traffic control when so many different events are getting over at the same time is just absolutely ridiculous!!! It took us 2.5 hrs to go 5 miles. The people they did have directing traffic at very few spots I think we're actually making it worse!! The picture attached shows all of the cars that are still stuck in the parking lot AFTER we made it out (two hours after the event ended). I've been to events with way more people and have never witnessed anything like it."

The Coliseum's Multifaceted Role
This adaptability is key to its role in Fort Wayne. For instance, it's a regular venue for the Fort Wayne Komets hockey team and hosts numerous high school and collegiate sports championships. Beyond sports, it's a hub for community events like the 97.3 WMEE Baby Fair and Family Expo and specialized gatherings such as Brickworld, a massive LEGO fan event.
The venue's capacity and diverse spaces mean there's almost always something happening. From career expos like JA JobSpark that engage thousands of students to music festivals and comedian tours, the Coliseum is a central pillar of Fort Wayne's entertainment and event landscape.
Navigating Event Logistics: Parking and Traffic
Travelers have shared tips for circumventing these parking costs, suggesting options like parking at nearby Johnny Appleseed Park or the PFW parking lot, followed by a walk to the Coliseum. This approach appeals to budget-conscious attendees but requires factoring in the extra walking time.
Beyond parking fees, significant traffic congestion can be a major issue, especially during peak times when multiple events are concluding simultaneously. Reviews highlight instances of extremely slow movement, with journeys of just a few miles taking hours. This underscores the importance of planning travel times, considering carpooling, or exploring public transport options if available to minimize stress.
Understanding Event Tickets and Seating
A notable concern raised in reviews pertains to the clarity and accuracy of premium seating descriptions, particularly for events like Fort Wayne Komets games. Guests have reported misleading information regarding 'Club Seats,' where the purchased premium seats were not as advertised, leading to disappointment and a feeling of being overcharged.
It's crucial for attendees to carefully review seat maps and descriptions, and if possible, to clarify any ambiguities with the venue or ticket provider before purchasing. This diligence can help ensure a satisfactory experience and avoid the frustration of unexpected seating arrangements or perceived value discrepancies.
