What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Flushing Library are mixed, with many praising its extensive resources and community events, while others point to issues with cleanliness and occasional staff rudeness. Some visitors find it a great study spot, though it can get crowded. Concerns have been raised about the condition of bathrooms and the overall atmosphere at times.
"Some of employees are very rude specially red hair security lady. She herself is very loud when talk with people while working in a library. She was telling me not to bring my child to library as he was talking a little while playing games. He’s a delayed child with developmental issues which I told her earlier also. She could tell me to stop him talking or singing song while playing games in library computer but she can’t tell me not to bring my child to library anymore. She & another young white girl(maybe a part time librarian as I don’t see her often) were telling me to go home. There were a lot of kids who were also talking while playing games & she didn’t told them anything which seems very racial. How come this kind of racist people can work at a library?"

"Sure was my fav place to go to for studying. It’s always crowded tho."

"This place is absolutely disgusting. A good portion of the books look crusty and old, the children only bathrooms were incredibly filthy, and there’s a sign that says no phones allowed to be used but there’s computers where kids are loudly playing Roblox. I was taking a picture of my children playing and an employee snuck up behind me and was looking at my phone to see what I was doing on it then told me “you can’t take pictures”. That’s not what the sign specifies, I assumed the sign meant no using phones loudly, and I was just trying to document my kids first time at the library. I’m most definitely allowed to document my children’s first time at the library so I can look back on these photos 20 years from now. There were no other children in my photos because I don’t believe in taking photos of other peoples kids. I think the children loudly playing Roblox on the computers were her kids or kids that she knows(she kept kneeling with them so that’s why I say that). There was such a strange vibe in this place, I don’t think I’ll be back. It honestly felt unsafe. Not to mention the horrible location with homeless drug addicts all around the outside and coming in to fight with entrance security guards(I witnessed this happen before I left). The most disappointing part was how filthy the kids only bathrooms were."
