Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking scenery and unique historical experience of the Gold Belt Tour, calling it one of the most beautiful drives. However, some caution is needed regarding vehicle suitability for certain roads and the importance of planning for fuel and services. Reddit+1

"It's a beautiful scenic view where you need a high 4 x4 and planned trip. However the gps took us that way without a warning of how the road was and no signs till half way of getting to Cripple Creek that you need a certain type of vehicle and by that time it's too far into to turn around. We were in a Chevy Trax and thank God we made it! In some parts we had to floor it up and slid towards the edge a few times and passing cars was scary because there were only a few cut outs."

Elizabeth Crump

"There is no tickets. Just drive. Be curious. Trust me you won't be disappointed. This is the most beautiful drive I've ever been on. I will be doing this again. And driving longer."

Chris Chappell

"The National Park shut down right before we reached the entrance. Traveling from Steamboat Springs to Estes Park. We had to turn around and go the long way back thru Grandby and Blackhawk. The drive was amazing. It rained, sleeted and snowed and eventually turned to just snow. Beautiful! The drive was very scenic and would have been more enjoyable except for the one driver going so slow and blocking the very long line of travelers behind him. If you do not know how to drive in snowy conditions, Pull Over and let others pass!"
