What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for the Historic Fairfax County Courthouse are mixed, with many praising its historical significance and the respectful nature of some staff and judges. However, significant concerns are raised regarding accessibility, particularly the long walk from parking and occasional elevator issues, which can be challenging for those with mobility impairments. Some visitors also report negative interactions with certain staff members.
"Very inconvenient. If you have any kind of mobility issues, use extreme caution when coming here. You will need a walker or a cane, if you have one. The public parking garage is at least half a mile from the main courthouse building. They do have handicapped parking, but what good is it if the garage is so far from the courthouse? Adding insult to injury, on the day I went the elevator even had the nerve to be out of service!! Then you have to hike wherever you need to go once you get inside the building. And the staff all realize how difficult this is for people. Fairfax County should be made to remedy this situation."

"They have been by far the most gracious and understanding family thought ever encountered. On my most recent run in with them I was turning myself in for a small but significant matter that needed to find this resolution and I knew I was going to have to be booked and receive my time served credits to complete My self-imposed obligation. Well I chose to do that in the mind state that woud give me some personal relief... If you understand what I'm saying I wanted to make sure I was relaxed as possible to be able to during this time but I didn't really understand until now the gravity of what that decision of choice of action could have been. When I was there I was greeted by familiar faces that I know. A family team I recognize and responded too because they treat me with such respect and as if I were just another human, going on his journey with a path towards improvement. But one of the upper ranks and I mean upper upper ranks chose to involve himself with my booking and release process. He would say to me, you seem very relaxed"" "" have in mind I paraphrase but I want you to understand what it's taking place. I didn't respond to what was said. I followed the instructions that I was given and did my best to suppress my desire to respond at the time but knowing that he clearly was aware of my circumstances and could choose to expose and execute said consequences when desired. Mercy was shown, and grace was given and this is not the first time... I'm thankful that God is giving me this reflections to be able to see his love shown to me. I went to sleep and rested for some hours while the paperwork was being processed and done and I woke up I was being fed and then told it's time to go. As if in a dreamy like State I picked up my food and off with them towards the release place. He ushered me into the magistrates offices and said okay listen to what she has to say as far as your terms of release. She begin to read the paperwork to me, but said my name slightly different from the way it actually is pronounced, then proceeded to present paperwork and let me know that I need to show for the drunk in public charge, I would have to reappear to the courts later December and do a series of actions to keep myself from being fully incarcerated again and then he stopped her ... And said oh wait never mind he actually has time served he's good to go he's the wrong guy and the ushered me away... My heart drops to my feet as a contemplated what was happening versus what could happen. And I know God's grace and mercy has been shown to me once more and I Will not deny it to anyone. I don't deserve Grace by any means, and mercy is a choice that is inspired the strongest one led at the light from above. But anyway they joking said okay let's go to the right place for you to finish processing so you can get out and the majority of precinct was asking me ,"man what made you so relax " I listen to what they were saying understood that there was absolutely no veil that I could throw, to escape the reality that I have brought upon myself. They said it's all good man just make sure you get home safely you have someone driving you right?! and I said yes I am being driven home, and they wish me well on my way and encouraged me to meet them again under better circumstances. I am so grateful because I was released allowed to go with my parents home back to Loudoun county. The unname higher up stress to me once again that mixing fentanyl and heart medications will lead me to a path of death and that I should be careful and not do that. I said nothing other than a small nod and thank them profusely for wonderful treatment that I have received once again. No, I'm not saying that I did mix those things together, but I am saying that I have other places and will have to deal with the accountability of those choices however I was spared today and allowed to continue my life to help my parents and to go through the process of seeking guided help for actual change, which has been granted to me. Praise God there is a difference!!"
