What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pu'uloa Beach Park is praised for its spacious grassy areas, kid-friendly playground, and scenic views, making it a pleasant spot for relaxation and family outings. While some find the shore break strong for swimming, the park's dog-friendly policy and community events add to its appeal as a local gem.
"Very pretty area with kids play structure, basketball court and plenty of open space. Lots of picnic tables and seating areas. Not very busy on a weekday, just some fishermen and locals who are very nice. It’s a beautiful space for hanging out and relaxing. There’s a nice view of diamond head. The shore break is pretty strong so I wouldn’t recommend it as a great swimming area especially for kids."

"Beautiful large park! Huge flat grassy area. Great for some outdoor game fun with family. Grass goes right up to the beach. When I went the shore did slope at about a 45 degree angle. Is dog friendly.
There were bathrooms I think but there was a decent number of homeless in that area. I didn't go to that side. No problems being there alone as a female. Everyone I did speak to was very nice and all smiles.
The dog had fun playing at the shore and we dried off in grassy area with picnic table."

"Small beach but very nice. Tiny parking lot but if you go at the good hours then no need to worry. Ideal if you live close to the area but nothing worth traveling the island to get to. It has a playground for the kids, a place to play volleyball in the grass, and several rest areas with shade. The sand is nice but coarse. Nothing too bad. Overall, it's a good place to come on a weekend to relax and enjoy the sun."
