What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Golfers find the Golf Club of Edmond Twin Bridges offers great value with well-maintained greens and fairways, though some criticize strict cart rules and limited amenities. The challenging holes provide a good test, but pace of play can be an issue.
"This is a great place to play if you enjoy driving your golf cart in REVERSE! They have the carts so restricted on places you can drive, it's ridiculous! I'm not talking about forgetting golf etiquette and normal golf course restrictions. I'm talking about just going to your ball to hit the next shot. It slows play down immensely because players have to leave their carts and walk 50 yds or more to their ball."

"Course Conditions: amazing conditions for late July golf. This summer has been good to us, but you can tell the course is well taken care of. Greens were in great shape, fairways were taken care of, rough was well, rough. The layout is simple, but you get to use just about every stick in the bag. The long par 4 on the front 9 has to be one of the toughest holes in Oklahoma. Bathrooms on the course were clean and accessible. It was raining when we played so I'm not sure if there were water coolers on the course. The driving range was grass and they also have turf matts too. Did not have time to hit the putting green, but after the round I saw many folks putting on what looked to be a very nice practice area. Would play this course every chance I get.
Club House: we only paid, but the pro shop had all the basic items for sale (shoes, socks, gloves, balls, clubs, etc.). Did not approach the snack bar or use the restrooms inside.
Value: 5/5 - the cost was less than $70 on a weekend morning round. I played a local country club for $130 the following day and the conditions were exactly the same. This has to be one of the best values for golf in the OKC area.
Golf carts were new with speakers, GPS, and access to the clubhouse on a touch screen. Would say though, there were no rain covers on the back of the carts so our clubs were subject to the rain once it started.
Staff: my brief interaction was short and sweet. The staff on the phone and in the clubhouse treated us with respect and were friendly. NO problems at all.
I saw other reviews about tee times and wait times, but since we were first out that day I had no issues. However, after we finished our 3 hour round I did notice a large group of carts on the first tee box. With the course being public I'm sure it's a tough balance of spacing out tee times while also getting in as many people as they can (while also making a profit). The layout also likely adds to the initial back up since the first hole is a very drivable par 4 followed by a rather easy par 5 most will try to reach in two shots. Then a par 3 after that. Coming from Dallas, this course could easily jack up their rates to $100 on the weekend which would allow them to space out tee times more. However, that would also mean less people get to experience this amazing course. It's a never ending battle most public courses are dealing with since COVID introduced so many new people to golf. Which is another issue in it's entirety.
Would recommend this course to any golf junky in the OKC area. Can't wait to come back and play it again after seeing the course for the first time."

"The actual course itself is not bad, but also not great. However, the lack of food service, and beverage cards for this price is a little bit silly. Also, this course desperately needs additional practice areas. There is only one practice area and everybody is chipping, pitching, and putting into the same small area. Also, the range is not very well-maintained. I really wish they would put more emphasis on the Golfer experience, which includes everything."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider the pace of play as a factor; if your family enjoys a more leisurely round, the potential for slow play due to cart restrictions could be a concern. It might be best suited for families with older children who are experienced golfers and understand the course's specific rules.
💰 Budget Travelers
However, be prepared to supplement the limited amenities. Since outside food and drinks are not allowed and onsite options are scarce, factor in the cost and convenience of stopping for food before or after your round. Also, the cart restrictions mean you might do more walking, so factor that into your energy levels.
🏌️ Serious Golfers
Be aware of the pace of play and cart restrictions, which might be a point of frustration for those accustomed to a faster rhythm. While the course conditions are generally good, some may find the practice facilities and overall amenities lacking compared to more upscale clubs. It's a solid choice for a round of golf focused on the course itself.

Navigating Cart Restrictions and Pace of Play
To mitigate this, it's advisable to book the earliest tee times to avoid potential backups. Be prepared for more walking than usual, even when using a cart. Understanding and adhering to these rules, while potentially inconvenient, is key to a smoother experience. Some suggest that the course layout, with a drivable par 4 and an easy par 5 on the front, can contribute to initial backups, further emphasizing the need for efficient play.
Course Conditions and Value Proposition
However, not all experiences are uniformly positive. Some reviews mention issues with tee box grass and burnt areas on the greens, and the driving range is described by some as an 'overgrown pasture.' The course's value is a strong selling point, but potential visitors should be aware that conditions can be variable.
Amenities and Golfer Experience
Furthermore, some golfers feel that the club could enhance the overall golfer experience by investing more in practice facilities. The current practice area is described as small and shared by multiple activities like chipping and putting. While the course itself is appreciated for its playability and value, the limited amenities are a point of contention for those seeking a more comprehensive golfing outing.
