What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Big SNOW American Dream offers a unique year-round indoor snow experience with options for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Visitors praise the novelty and convenience, especially for learning and off-season practice. However, some reviews mention issues with crowd management, inconsistent snow conditions, and occasional staff responsiveness.
"Very nice indoor skiing facility. Got the Groupon so the total was $73, and was easily able to make a reservation on the official site after. Went at 1p on a Friday, got on the slope at 1:30 and was able to have 2 full hours of runs until 3:30. I filmed every run, so I was able to get down the slope 12 times, with the rest of the time either waiting in line or going up. Took me a min to get down the slope each time. Staff was friendly and professional. Lines got longer as time went on. I would go again, but keep it to weekdays, just not on a busy weekend."

"I purchase one of their six ride passes every year. It’s a great place for learning or warm up runs. Today I brought my skis and snowboard and had no idea the lockers aren’t big enough to accommodate actual skis and boards. The manager Emmanuel had amazing customer service and manager skills especially for someone his age. He was kind enough to accommodate me by letting me leave my skis behind the rental area while I’m snowboarding and vice versatility while I’m skiing. I’ll continue to use this place during the off season and try to bring another friend or two and spread the word to other east coast riders / skiers."

"Traveled from Mississippi to visit my home and bought my family. Decided to ski ⛷️ for the first time, since there would be training.
But, There was no one per your employee to provide first timers training per your advertisement for the rental package. We had to ask other non employees for help or figure it out ourselves. Overall we had a great time and when back in NY will do it again."

Remember that while gear rentals are available, having your own comfortable gear can enhance the learning experience. Dress warmly in layers, as the temperature inside is consistently cold.
Navigating Crowds and Slope Etiquette
It's important to be aware of slope etiquette. This includes respecting other riders, maintaining control of your equipment, and avoiding stopping in the middle of the slope or on blind corners. Unfortunately, some visitors have reported instances of disruptive behavior from other guests, including walking up the slope and unsafe riding. [^review]
If you encounter any issues or witness unsafe behavior, it's advisable to report it to the staff immediately. While some guests have had mixed experiences with staff responses, bringing concerns to their attention is the best course of action. [^review]
Gear and What to Wear
Dress in layers is key for comfort. The indoor temperature is consistently around 28°F (-3°C), so you'll want warm, waterproof outerwear, thermal base layers, and warm socks. Gloves and a hat are essential.
Regarding snow conditions, some experienced riders have noted that the surface can become quite slushy, especially later in the day. It's advised to avoid waxing your skis or snowboard heavily, as the wax can attract dirt and slow you down. [^review]
