"We stumbled upon Kitchi Gammi Park while looking for a quick rest stop during a drive and wow, it turned out to be such a lovely surprise! The park is super well-maintained with plenty of benches and picnic tables, making it ideal for a calm break or even a full-on picnic. It’s also really kid-friendly, with swings and open space for little ones to run around.
What I really appreciated was the peaceful atmosphere. It wasn’t too noisy, even with families around it just had this relaxed, refreshing vibe that instantly made us feel more grounded. It felt like one of those spots you randomly find and end up remembering for a long time.
We found out later that it’s actually known as one of the best sunrise spots in the area! Definitely bookmarking it for an early morning visit sometime soon. I can only imagine how stunning it must be with that lakeside view and the quiet stillness of dawn.
The only downside? The bathrooms were honestly a letdown. Not the cleanest, and definitely could use some upkeep. That part was a bit disappointing, especially for a park that otherwise felt so inviting and thoughtfully designed.
Still, if you’re passing through or even planning a little nature moment, I’d say Kitchi Gammi Park is a hidden gem worth the stop. Just maybe bring your own hand sanitizer and some tissues..just in case."

But when we arrived here, we were amazed by the fresh, clean air. It was so refreshing.

"Great park on the north shore of Duluth. All smooth rock "beaches" with very large Boulder and bedrock outcrops that are great for exploring. Being a bit of a rock hound I love the interesting finds of how the waves have shape the rock. The water is usually crystal clear unless northern Wisconsin/Minnesota has had significant rainfall. And the water is refreshingly chilled. Easy to get to and very easy access. Enjoy!"
