Reviews Summary
Doylestown Borough is cherished for its strong community spirit and charming historic district, offering unique shops and attractions like the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle. However, visitors should be aware of the strictly enforced parking regulations, which can lead to unexpected tickets and frustration.
"I grew up in Doylestown and lived there for 20 years. The recent increase in parking enforcement is ridiculous.
I paid for parking outside Doylestown Bookshop and still received a $20 ticket while my time was valid. I briefly stopped at Empanada Mama’s and a nearby shop, only to return to a violation on my windshield.
When I contested the ticket with proof of paid parking, I was essentially told I was out of luck. The rules here appear to be hyper-technical and not visitor-friendly — even if you’re supporting multiple local businesses and paying for your space.
This kind of enforcement discourages people from coming into town. Be warned: parking in Doylestown is aggressively policed with little sympathy from the borough."

"I was born in the old hospital on Belmont Ave. I went to school at OLMC. I worked at Briarleaf Nursing Home for 30 years and have lived in the borough for decades. I am very happy and satisfied to live in this community. Everyone pulls together as a team to solve the problems that come our way. If you have an opportunity to live in the Doylestown Borough, I would take the chance. I highly recommend the experience."
