What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Disney Cruise Line is celebrated for its unparalleled customer service, magical atmosphere, and high-quality entertainment and dining, making it a top choice for families. While some reviews note a slight decline in post-pandemic service and food quality compared to pre-2019 standards, the overall experience remains exceptional and superior to many competitors. Minor issues like occasional room maintenance or rotational dining logistics are generally outweighed by the immersive Disney magic and attentive staff.
"Disney Cruise Line has been our go to cruise line for over 10 years, and we have been mostly happy with the 15+ cruises we have taken. The cruise line is known for the exemplary customer service, amenities, and food quality that sets the brand apart from most other lines. While this stands true, there has been a noted decline in several areas (most likely due to Covid-19 impact on operations). The differences between pre and post 19 travel are evident, specifically in the food quality and to certain aspects the customer service. C19 impacted many business's operations, supply, and logistics, and Disney World be no exception. Modifications to the supply chains in post operations has led to noted declines in the food quality, due to losses in their logistical chains (verified by cast members) of their preferred vendors. While we are several years beyond "re-open", the original quality did not come back (though the food is still better than most other cruise lines). The customer service has also taken a hit, again due to losses of cast members who held lengthy positions with the brand, but had to move on to other professions due to their lost wages during shutdown (many of the cast members of earlier have moved on to other professions for financial support). Many cast members still remain, but with the release of many new ships on the horizon, there is a lot of focus on new cast "earning their ears". This has led to a gap in previous service levels compared to current. The customer service is still fantastic, but there are many noted differences between the pre onboard feel of the service, and the current level received (many of the small little extras that made the cruise so special seem to have been lost).
DCL is a solid choice for cruises with our without children (MANY adults cruise without children in the line due to the service level), but the "elite" feel of the line is becoming lost."

"Excellent Cruise.
This is my first cruise in many years, and so I did not know what to expect. Many of my friends who take cruises suggested that I take a Disney cruise. I was told that they are more expensive than some other cruise lines, but their level of service is top of the line. I took a 3-day cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay aboard the Disney ship, the Wish. I was very impressed with so many things, from the caliber of the performances to the quality of the food. Every staff member was pleasant and made the stay special in ways like towel animals on the bed and friendly reminders of where to be for the fireworks. The cruise stopped in Nassau for one day and Castaway Cay for the other day, traveling between them at night. The weather was perfect and the ride was exceptionally smooth. They offer lots of shipboard activities every day. Three challenges on the trip were 1) the rotational dining method and 2) closed shops on the ship while in port, and 3)early luggage pickup on the last night. The rotational dining means that you will be seated with other groups each night while experiencing each of the 3 main restaurants. The closed shops are due to Bahamian law. The early luggage pickup is to enable your luggage to be ready on the pier as you approach customs. The embarkation and disembarkation were both very easy and well-explained. Overall, it was an excellent cruise, and I am already planning other adventures after seeing how professionally they handled this trip."

"We had a great time. The only downfall is the age limit on the kids club. I have a daughter who is more into the younger kids stuff despite being 12. She wanted to go in the kids club so bad and wasn't a fan of the teen area. My 9yo loved the kids club. He wanted to be there the entire time it was open. Unfortunately next year he wont be allowed in so we may have to choose another cruise line that caters to their ages. I think if you have younger kids this is a great cruise. My 7yo didn't care about the kids club much. He likes the crafts, but hes not a structured play sort of kid. The food was good. The boat felt safe enough to let his off on their own. Download the app prior to leaving or you cant communicate with your kids on their phones. The boat was pretty clean overall. Our bathroom was moldy and mildew filled. It was a problem with under the tub. They did address it, but it took about 2 days. They offered us a little gift bag for the inconvenience, which was nice, but I did notice after being in the room a while my entire family did have nasal and throat problems, but once we left the room we were fine. I think this was a one time fluke and had we made a big fuss they would have accommodated us, but honestly it was fine and we still had a great vacation, but I was suprised they even allowed the room to be occupied. The staff at the dining was AMAZING! they always remembered our names and out preferences in food. We were traveling with a child on the spectrum and they always had her food out right away and accommodated her needs. They did magic tricks with the kids too. One of the port days it did rain, but they provided ponchos for us to still get off the boat. That was great! They take sickness seriously which is a great thing! My son had way to much ice cream one day and ran up the stairs to dinner and well...it all came back up. They did have to report it, as they should, to make sure an illness doesn't spread on the boat. They didn't allow him to enter the kids club unless he got oked by the boat Dr. He did get the ok the next day after we explained the ice cream thing and they looked him over. I did like how they did take it seriously as to contain the spread of illness if there was one."
