"Beautifully maintained grounds and peaceful atmosphere. Informative and enjoyable guided tours (featuring historic people from Michigan history buried at Elmwood) are offered on select Sundays. See their site for details."

Deborah Evans

"Elmwood Cemetery is a historic cemetery in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. I went there recently to visit some of my loved ones' grave sites. The staff was very helpful at precisely mapping out the graves (3 to be exact) and even provided some nearby landmarks to make it easier for me to find them and it worked. I found all three of them fairly quickly.

The grounds at Elmwood Cemetery are very well kept and beautifully landscaped. There's also a small lake and fountain on site that adds to the tranquility of this historic landmark."

Shannon Black

"This was one of the last places I wanted to visit before moving further south. Came here to come look at my fathers grave one last time before leaving. We laid him to rest here over 4 years ago and I’m grateful to God that the groundkeepers are keeping his section clean and well taken care of. There are many sections here and I’m glad the people who work here are understanding of how love ones can feel during times of grief."
