What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Detroit Masonic Temple is lauded for its stunning, historic architecture and its role as a premier live music venue. While many praise the beauty of the building and the quality of events, some visitors note issues with internal temperature, high concession prices, and long lines for merchandise and restrooms.
"We saw Lorna Shore here tonight. For starters they had no AC so it was insanely hot even Will Ramos said it was super hot and thanked us for sticking around , everyone was talking about it from the second we got into the building. Then they charge $5 for a pure life water and I'm sure alcohol was crazy also 😆. If you buy merch plan on waiting in a long line same for the bathrooms. If you don't want to hold on to the merch you can check it in for $5 and grab it after the show. The show wasn't loud enough! Normally you can really feel the drums! It just fell flat tonight 😔. No ringing ears or muffled sound or anything. It left us feeling un-impressed honestly. Went to see I Prevail and Three Days Grace last week at Soaring Eagle and it was WAY LOUDER. I'm so confused. I wouldn't go to another show here unfortunately. Beautiful venue though. The architecture is amazing."

"Great place to see a show, the staff is excellent and venue is clean and well operated. Tell us the stone work on the outside of the building. They don't make em like that anymore. Stage is low so you can see the fans unobstructed."

"We were so happy with our choice to have our wedding at the Masonic Temple! The venue is historic, beautiful, and unlike any other — its unique charm made our special day feel even more magical. Our guests are still talking about how memorable it was.
The team behind the scenes was wonderful. They were kind, attentive, and helpful in making sure the day went smoothly. The venue was wonderfully inclusive, offering a comfortable getting ready space complete with coffee and champagne, which made the morning feel extra special and relaxing. Their support and care took so much stress off our shoulders, allowing us to fully enjoy the moment.
The catering team was fantastic as well. The food was absolutely delicious and we received so many compliments from our guests. It really added to the overall experience and celebration. We would recommend the late night coney dogs!
One thing I did hear a few times from our guests that I will mention for other brides — throughout our ceremony in the chapel, there were brief moments of loud bass from a nearby band’s sound check. While it was not ideal, it didn’t take away from the beauty of the overall day and looking back I would still choose the chapel for our ceremony, just something to be aware of. It definitely wasn’t the team’s fault, just a quirk of the building.
We would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a stunning setting to bring their dream day to life!"
