What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
While the Historic Volusia County Courthouse is praised for its stunning architecture, particularly the stained-glass dome, and its impressive public art collection, some visitors have reported negative experiences with county administrative services in other departments. However, the courthouse building itself is generally viewed as a beautiful and worthwhile stop in downtown DeLand.
"Volusia County runs a scam on out of state drivers! I was in a car accident in this county. The officer told me and the other driver she was ruling it no fault. The officer said the accident report would be emailed to me(I never received it). 4 months later I get a notice in the mail that my drivers license is about to be suspended for an unpaid ticket and failure to appear in court. The date of the ticket being the date of my accident. I spent 2 days trying to get someone on the phone to explain this or provide details of the ticket. I could not get a live person on the phone. I go to my states DMV to see if they can even confirm this is real. They say yes, they can see the suspension notice but have no details. I finally get a person from Volusia County on the phone and they also can provide no information regarding the ticket but they were happy to take my payment. With my only other option being to get legal representation, I was forced to pay this unknown ticket to avoid my license being suspended."

"Everytime I come here either to pay a ticket or for whatever reason they make it seem like you’re an inconvenience and that they have better things to do. They always speak fast and rush you almost cutting you off and when you try to ask them questions they aren’t very informative and give you brief info. Very rude and unwelcoming"

"Was recently summoned to be a Juror. All thought not selected, everyone was very polite and respectful. Wanda guided us through information prior to being questioned and all went with ease prior to being released as a non chosen juror."
