What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Princess Theatre, calling it a 'gem' with 'PERFECT' acoustics and a charming, historic atmosphere. Its accessibility is highly praised, making it welcoming for all. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, some may find the intimate setting less ideal for very large-scale productions.
"What a gem of a venue, right in the Heart of Decatur. My great-great Uncle Albert Frahn turned this Livestock show room built in 1919 into a Performing Arts Venue around 1940. My Grandfather was an Usher in the late 1940's & '50's - cool to have a family link to this truly awesome venue! The Acoustics are just PERFECT!"

"Mobility scooter friendly! Went to a concert here recently and was super impressed with how accessible the place is. Staff went out of their way to help with my scooter, and you can tell they’ve put real thought into making the lobby, theater, and bathrooms easy to get around.
The women’s bathroom even has a big accessible room inside — plenty of space to drive a scooter in and turn around, plus good support bars and a sink. You don’t see that often in older theaters! Really appreciate how much effort the Princess has put into being inclusive and accessible."
