What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Breakers Oceanfront Park is praised for its beautiful beach access and convenient location near the pier, offering a relaxing atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the splash pad for kids and the availability of parking. However, some reviews point to recurring issues with cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms, and a lack of extensive amenities beyond the basic park features.
"Found parking right away.
Such a beautiful beach but management here is horrible. No toilet tissue in ladies bathroom. Trash everywhere and we saw some homeless people along the beach front as well. It’s a popular spot and well worthy of visiting but lacks cleanliness.
We were so lucky to see manatees. The wildlife is beautiful and you will see so many birds along the shore.
There are a lot of activities and fun things to do. We were short handed on time so we only spent a few hours."

"Beautiful place! Not very crowded. Loved walking on the beach"

"We visited in January, 2024. It was a weekday with temperatures in the 70's to 80 degrees. So it was fairly quiet. The park being located at the beach where the Main Street Pier and the south end of the walkway begins, was convenient. It's a nice park, at least when we visited. But there isn't a lot to do at the park itself. There was a volleyball court. And there was a splash pad for the kids. Other than restrooms, there wasn't much else. There is no playground or such. And yes, there are restrooms. They are located near the splash pad (near the walkway and pier entrances). There ware also water fountains for a drink outside the restrooms. If I forgot something, my apologies.
But it was a nice place just to sit and relax to enjoy the view. At least it was when we visited. Its location near the beach, walkway and pier is pretty convenient. I liked being able to park right at this park. Although we had to pay to park. It was worth the price. I'm sure it wouldn't be this easy during the crowded times."

Navigating Breakers Oceanfront Park: A Visitor's Guide
While the park provides basic amenities like restrooms and outdoor water fountains, reviews suggest that cleanliness can be an issue, particularly regarding restroom supplies and general trash management during busy periods. This highlights the importance of visiting during less crowded times, such as weekdays, to maximize enjoyment and a cleaner environment. The presence of wildlife, including manatees and various bird species, adds an extra layer of natural beauty to the experience.
For those planning a visit, especially with young children, it's worth noting that while there's a splash pad, a traditional playground is absent. If you're considering visiting nearby beaches like Ormond Beach, be aware of local regulations regarding car access to the sand, as this can be a concern for families with small children. Overall, Breakers Oceanfront Park is a spot for relaxation and enjoying the coastal scenery, rather than a destination packed with numerous attractions.
Family Fun and Practicalities at Breakers Oceanfront Park
Practical considerations for families include the potential for cleanliness issues, particularly in the restrooms. It's advisable to pack essentials like toilet paper and hand sanitizer. If you're planning a longer outing, bringing snacks and drinks is recommended, as dedicated food vendors within the park are limited. The convenience of parking directly at the park is a significant plus for families managing gear and children, making the transition from car to beach smoother.
When visiting with young children, especially if considering nearby beach areas like Ormond Beach, it's important to research car access policies. Some beaches have restrictions that might be a concern for families worried about proximity to vehicles. Breakers Oceanfront Park itself offers a car-free beach experience, focusing on pedestrian access and enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
