What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Häagen-Dazs Honey Bee Haven to be a beautiful and educational spot, particularly during peak bloom seasons. Many appreciate the vibrant flowers, informative signage, and the opportunity to observe bee activity. Some note it's a bit underfunded but still valuable for its research and peaceful atmosphere.
"I would really like to make a response to Carlos Sinner who made a review 3 months prior to my review. I am sorry that the only value you see in the garden is for social media. I will agree that it is underfunded. However, as a student interning for the Bee Haven, I am learning valuable skills to become a bee keeper myself. There is a lab located adjacent to the garden and that is where much of the research is conducted, including, but not limited to mite reduction to keep bees healthy. In order to keep bees, a source of nectar is necessary and the pollinator garden facilitates that. No flowers means no bees. Gardening skills is just as valuable as the actual bee keeping. Furthermore by getting myself familiarized with all the different plants, and spending extended time there, I can observe the bees behavior. I can then find out which flowers they most prefer, what blooms when, and how best to support their ecosystem."

"It was fun to pop in and see the flowers and watch the crop dusters land. The art work is whimsical and fun and it was a nice stop on my walk by the olive trees. Don't be alarmed if you hear the pigs from the nearby pig barns, they make a lot of noise when they are being fed so if you don't recognize the sound, you might think that there was something else going on. Worth a side trip...and everyone loves bees."

"It's a nice garden to visit during your free time. Plenty of flowers to look at and sniff, especially during the spring!"
