Fellow dog folks: where can I take my 2 large retrievers to run off leash (legally)? I'm in the Davis area and willing to drive. They have excellent recall and are well-trained.

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Davis Toad Tunnel is a unique conservation effort, appreciated for its charming concept. However, many visitors note its unmaintained condition, with some finding it dilapidated and disappointing. While it offers a quirky photo opportunity, expectations should be managed for a rustic experience.
"So…. It is just a “tiny town “ set up on the corner of a parking entrance to the post office, by who knows who. Not maintained.
Looks like it might have been cute once- but in disrepair now with garbage strewn about. Not really worth a long stop but if you are nearby give it a little glance."

"I love all things mystical, magical, vintage, used, free. When I stumbled on this sweet and fun little tourist trap I knew I needed to stop by. However the experience was not great :( you have to park in a post office that is grey and ominous, there is also a lot of people around. I walked up to toad hollow and it is abysmal. The buildings are so damaged you can see through sides of them. The paint is barely there. There were decorations that looked like they had been stomped. Cobwebs and leaves over the whole thing. Very sad, honestly just made me feel bad. It’s probably time for a new art piece here….. No one is here to take care of this one :( I would say toad hollow is not worth the visit."
