Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Shark Fin Cove's stunning natural beauty, particularly the iconic rock formation and picturesque sea cave, making it a must-see along Highway 1. While the views from the bluffs are breathtaking, the steep and slippery descent to the beach is a significant challenge, making it less suitable for young children or those with mobility concerns. Parking can also be tricky.

"Rating 9/10
Beautiful place to visit and to enjoy the views. The only downside to the beach is the hike down the cliff. Definitely would not recommend for small children or infants. The water wasn’t super rough that day and the beach was litter free.(Continue the tread please)"

James Omoto Jr

"We visited this on a memorial day weekend. We just stopped by looking at the cars that were parked along the sideways. The view is just mesmerizing. If you wish you can hike down to get to the beach. Otherwise you can just enjoy the view from the top. It was too windy on the top."

Vidya P Kamath

"Shark Fin Cove in Davenport. Tucked just off Highway 1 near the small town of Davenport, Shark Fin Cove is a striking little spot that’s worth pulling over for. The beach gets its name from the large rock formation offshore, it looks just like a shark fin rising out of the water. From the top of the bluffs, you get an amazing view of the coast, and if you’re up for a short, steep path, you can make your way down to the beach to explore up close.

If you want to stretch your legs a bit more, there’s the Shark Fin Cove Loop. It’s an easy-to-moderate trail, a little over 2 miles round trip, with views of the cliffs, wildflowers in the spring, and ocean breezes the whole way. It’s a great add-on to your visit, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful walk with some beautiful photo ops.

Pack water, wear sturdy shoes, and keep an eye on the tide if you’re heading down to the beach, it’s small and rugged, but totally worth it."
