"I recently stayed at the Hotel Blackhawk on two separate occasions and had several reservations for family members for my grandfather’s funeral. I have been an Ambassador Member since the tier was established in 2016 and travel all over the world for business. Over nearly two decades of travel with Marriott I can confidently say that the best hotel experience I have had at any hotel was not in London, or Paris or Abu Dahbi but right here in the Heartland in Davenport, Iowa and it comes down to the people. Stephen and his team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable in spite of the unfortunate circumstances of our visit.
I could not have asked for or attempted to curate a stay as enjoyable as the one the lovely staff at the Hotel Blackhawk delivered. Thank you all for extending grace and kindness to my family and providing us a home for the weekend.

"I'm writing this about a month after my stay cuz it still bothers me. I have to leave the review. It's a cool hotel, old building, nice location. Parking lot is attached for 22 bucks a night. Food is decent( but add 20% if doing room service). But that's where the nice stuff ends.
When we got to our door, the last night's room service was still outside the door. The room we had was beat up. The carpet is not clean, I don't think it was vacuumed at all. We chose to wear socks. Every piece of furniture is damaged in some way. The chair has the piping hanging off, the cabinets and wood trims are all scratched or chipped. The 'built in' desk with paneling is pulled roughly 6in away from the wall, exposing a lot of dust and all the cables. There are 2 TVs which is cool, but one of them only plays the Marriot ads. The air conditioning i think works, but it is not the strongest. The toilet was loose and moved around. There was white staining on the bed skirt. There were dead bugs rolled into the window shade. There was also no complimentary waters in our room. I think I paid 320 for the room, and another 130 for dinner in the room.
Also I found that the ice machines on at least the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors are not working as of our stay and they look like they have been taken apart for a while.
Sadly this doesn't hotel doesn't live up to autograph collection standards in our opinion, and we have become big fans of autograph hotels after different stays across multiple countries"

From the smooth check-in process to the beautifully maintained, spacious rooms, everything exceeded expectations. The food was delicious, the bartenders were attentive and kind, and the atmosphere was simply beautiful. Every detail was handled with care. I look forward to returning for future stays — truly a five-star experience."
