What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests generally find The Statler to be a stylish and elegant hotel with a great downtown location and impressive rooftop views. The retro-chic ambiance and amenities like the rooftop pool and speakeasy are frequently praised. However, some visitors have noted issues with strong odors in hallways and rooms, noise from street-facing rooms, and challenges with valet parking for larger vehicles.
"Overall, our experience at The Statler was good. Positives included special memories made with my girls - they loved the view of the city and the shower which came complete with a rain fall shower head and two robes. The girls felt luxurious. We also enjoyed the pool area. I appreciated the valets who kindly let me know about a parking spot across the street that saved me about $45!
Negatives included a very strong cigarette smell in the hallway and a strong scent in our hotel room as though they were trying cover the cigarette smell. It bothered my eyes and lungs enough that we asked to move rooms. The hotel staff was accommodating and understanding. We started on the 7th floor which was definitely stronger smelling then the 6th, but I would say that our 6th floor room and hallway smelled as well just not quite as strong. I wasn't sure if this was carry over from all the years people smoked in those hallways or someone sneaking it in their room, but it was very strong. We also left the pool area about 8:30 as it became an adult environment vs kid friendly. A group of people brought their music, drinks, and smokes and others came as couples to the lounging areas. It just didn't feel kid friendly at this point, so we headed back to our room. And in all honesty, I would say the hotel itself felt much more like a place for adults vs kids."

"The beds are way too soft and spongy. For a hotel that wants to be high end and charge $60 a night to valet your vehicle I expect much much more. Instead the said they could not park my Expedition, it was too tall. I said it is assembly line standard, no lift or anything unusual. Instead they directed my to another hotel’s parking lot 2 blocks away that had public parking. So we unloaded and drive around till I found it through the construction. $20/night, huh. 🤦♂️🤔so for $60, they could have handled the valet only parking service they advertised and pocket $40 and provide the service they want to portray to offer for the level they aspire to. Very disappointing with how the staff did not have a clear way to handle a large, but standard vehicle. Really set a poor tone for the weekend. We will never return."

"We had an incredible stay at The Statler Dallas, a perfect blend of mid-century glamour and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegance of the space, the attention to detail, and the hospitality.
The rooms were spacious and stylish, with great views and thoughtful touches throughout. The bed was comfortable in the bathroom spacious, well appointed.
You’re right in the heart of downtown, within easy reach of everything, and just a short drive to fantastic areas like the Bishop Arts District. The rooftop pool and bar are a must-visit, perfect for relaxing and taking in the Dallas skyline. Friday and Saturday nights can be a little crazy up there though, party nights.
The Statler is a destination. We’ll absolutely stay here again next time we’re in Dallas."
