What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Crested Butte Nordic Center for its friendly and helpful staff, well-maintained trails, and variety of winter activities. The free lessons and dog-friendly options are frequently highlighted as major positives. Some find the day pass price a bit high, but most agree the experience and scenery are well worth it.
"First time cross country skier. The staff at Crested Butte Nordic were friendly and helpful. I rented on line and when I stopped by in the morning the equipment was ready for me. Had never skied cross country and the staff quickly explained the boots and bindings and trail options for someone new to cross country skiing. There is a skiing option at the facility if you have experience. As a newcomer, I was directed to two wonderful trails in town-Peanut Lake which was a short drive and the Snodgrass Trail area up past the mountain. Both were fantastic. Absolutely beautiful as you can see in the photos. I skied three days from 8am to 11am. Each trail has options for distance and skill. It was really great. Peaceful, a workout and so beautiful. The Center itself is a warm, friendly shop. Get yourself a t shirt for home to remind you to stay in as good as shape as these folks. Thank you again to the staff. Fantastic experience."

"Nice place, easy access, super friendly and helpful staff. I took one of their free ski lessons and it was great. The instructor Laura helped us and she was lovely. The place offers other activities, so check the website. They rent ski equipment and sell some clothes, gloves, lip balm, etc."

"Huge shout out to Addie & Brie! They rented me gear in the evening so I could get out early the next morning... and they even held on to my snowboard & boots for me so I could quickly get to CBMR late morning for more time on the snow. And Addie recommended some amazing trails for a novice! 8 mile round trip from Three Ladies Park in town to Gunsight Bridge and back. Unbelievable views, silence and solitude, great workout. You will not be able to miss God's power and glory in His creation of these mountains!
Psalms 95:3-7 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care."
